[28 March] The registration system is now back to normal. For those who have some erroneous transactions, we will contact you to fix the problem as soon as we are ready.
[27 March] There is a system error and we have suspended the registration system. It is expected to take a few days to fix the error. We will post a notice as soon as all the error is fixed.
Registration Desk Opening Hours
Registration Desk is located on the 2nd floor of the conference center. The conference center is the closest facility of PACIFICO Yokohama from Minatomirai Station. In order to check in to the Congress and obtain your badge, due to security reasons, please bring your passport (or an equivalent photo ID for Japanese residents) and present it at the registration desk. Make sure that you wear the badge at all times when you stay at the conference venue.

Registration
In order to take part in the IFAC World Congress 2023, all participants are required to complete registration and pay the registration fee. Participants are eligible to take advantage of early registration discounts by completing online registration by 23:59 (US Pacific Time), 15 April 2023, at the registration site (IFAC Papercept).
IFAC 2023 is best structured for on-site attendance to enjoy the full benefits of the events such as workshops, tutorials, competitions, forums, poster sessions, and a variety of social activities. Considering the worldwide Covid-19 situation, on-line attendance is also possible, but the benefits are unavoidably limited compared to the on-site attendance. Specifically, real-time attendance is mainly restricted to the plenary/semi-plenary sessions and the opening/closing ceremonies. The details of the benefits/restrictions about the on-line attendance are described below.

| *One (1) paper upload allows 6 pages per paper. Maximum 2 extra pages are allowed at additional cost. **On-line attendees have real-time access ONLY to the plenary/semi-plenary sessions, the opening/closing ceremonies, and the limited number of special sessions. The pre-recorded presentation videos of the technical sessions will be available on an on-demand basis (for one month since the beginning of the Congresss). If none of the authors of a paper is on the site, the pre-recorded presentation video of the paper is shown to the audience at the site for interactive and poster sessions. All the Q&As for the video presentations in the oral and the interactive sessions are expected to be done through a virtual platform (off the session). |

Additional Fees
- Cost per paper for extra paper upload: JPY30,000.
- Excess Page Charges (Maximum of two excess pages beyond normal page limit, only for regular paper and survey paper categories): JPY15,000/page.

Payment
- Payment must be made in Japanese yen.
- The only accepted means of payment is by CREDIT CARD (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club).
Cancellation
All fees paid are not refundable.
Limitation of Liability in Relation to the Congress
The IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel IFAC World Congress 2023 without notice or compensation in the event of any delay, default, failure or cancellation of implementation of any deliverable to or for the IFAC World Congress 2023 which has been caused, directly or indirectly, by any incident of “force majeure”. For the purposes hereof, the term “force majeure” shall mean any incident, circumstance or cause which renders delivery of the IFAC World Congress 2023 substantially or totally impossible or impracticable and which is beyond the control of the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee. The term shall include but not be limited to the following:
- Any strike, or other industrial action of any kind;
- Fire, flood, or adverse weather conditions;
- Unavoidable breakdown or destruction of facilities or equipment;
- Failure of carriers, delays in performance or delivery by sub-contractors or any other breach by a third party of a material obligation towards the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee;
- Power failure;
- Promulgation/amendment/rescission of any relevant legislation or regulation by local or national government;
- Any occurrence of any nature which renders it reasonably necessary for the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee to cancel the IFAC World Congress 2023.
In such circumstances, the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee and the IFAC 2023 organizers are hereby indemnified and shall not be liable to any delegate, supplier or other service provider for any loss or damage save that the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee shall only be liable to reimburse the relevant party such amounts as may actually have been received by the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee BUT AFTER deduction of any costs that have been reasonably incurred by it up to the point of cancellation in preparing the Congress. This limited liability does not extend to any payments that may have been made directly or indirectly (on behalf of delegates/attendees/service providers, etc.) to third parties such as hotels or airlines.
The IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee and the IFAC 2023 organizers shall not be responsible for any theft, breakage, destruction or damages of any kind whatsoever and howsoever caused to personal and/or business items of delegates, accompanying persons, children, or other attendees.
All delegates are to make themselves fully aware of the health and visa requirements in respect of travel to Japan; in the event that an individual is unable to participate in the Congress due to not meeting these requirements in any way, neither the IFAC 2023 National Organizing Committee nor the IFAC 2023 organizers accept responsibility in any respect.

We will only use your personal information for the following purposes.
- Providing information on the International Federation of Automatic Control 2023, and other future related Conventions.
- Operating and managing the International Federation of Automatic Control 2023, responding to inquiries from registrants.
- Sharing information with the organizations and companies involved in the International Federation of Automatic Control 2023, for the preparation and operations.
